Trend Alert:

Top destinations for a Destination Wedding

We have narrowed each category down to the top trends we see upcoming in 2020. Enjoy!

2020 Destination Wedding trends:

  1. Italy

  2. Jamaica.  Leaving from Canada, Jamaica is always a popular island for wedding couples to get married at.  With All-Inclusives, amazing food, and beautiful scenery there is a little bit to do for every age and personality within the group.

  3. Canada

Over the top but with sustainability in mind. Think lots of local, in-season flowers, wildflowers, dried flowers, edible flowers, rustic grasses.

  1. Maximist dress – think princess style, cathedral veil, sleeves, big skirt with lots of tulle, lots of beading, not always white.

  2. Having more than one wedding dress.

Fairy Lights everywhere.  ot only do they make for a romantic setting but also beautiful photos.

Unplugged Honeymoons.  Not necessarily the destination itself but rather the quality time with each other.  In a busy world where we are constantly checking our devices, it can be nice to put them down and explore a unique location, get in tune with nature and be with each other having no distractions.  There truly is no better way to start your lives together as a married couple.

Unique Additions

Sustainability – When wedding couples are looking for that wow factor trends have really been leaning towards a more sustainable route. Instead of doing traditional favors you could have something like a tarot reader station for a more personalized experience.

  • Repurposing linens or décor for the wedding so everything has a story to it and can be reused again after the wedding,

  • Donating flowers to a seniors center or hospital after your big day.

  • Using vendors that keep sustainability in mind whether it be the caterer going with a meatless menu, the florist only using local and in-season florals, instead of gifts having guests donate to a charity within your destination.

Wedding Theme:

Celestial/Spiritual Theme.  It’s all about bringing in the ‘good vibes’ on your big day.  A way for your friends and family to experience the good energy and well wishes to the new couple on their big day.  Ways to incorporate this into your ceremony would be to pass the wedding rings around the group to imprint their energy onto your marriage, a saging ceremony, crystals for decorations, a tarot reader station, a rose quartz crystal as favors (the crystal of love),
